What is PCP Laced Weed?

PCP laced weed refers to marijuana or marijuana joints that have been dipped in a liquid form of PCP (phencyclidine) or sprinkled with the powdered form as a way to enhance or intensify the psychoactive effects of the marijuana when it is smoked.

Marijuana use comes with its own set of dangers including impaired cognition, memory, perception, loss of coordination, and According to the Drug Enforcement Administration, “High doses of marijuana can result in mental confusion, panic reactions and hallucinations.” Smoking marijuana can cause respiratory problems, infections, and decrease immunity. The addition of PCP to the marijuana increases these risks and causes other more harmful consequences.

PCP is a synthetic hallucinogen developed as an anesthetic, and later, discontinued for use in human medicine because it caused patients to have delusions, anxiety, and other unpredictable and bizarre behavioral side effects. It is considered a dissociative hallucinogen drug because it causes the users to become detached from reality and can cause visual and auditory hallucinations. Today, PCP is more dangerous than ever because it is only produced, illegally, by people who have one agenda – to make money. The manufacturing sources are usually unknown by the users and no one can be sure of what actually makes up any single dose.
